Samsung Plans To Build New OLED Factory

According to the news before, Apple has ordered 1.8 billion OLED panels for its iPhone in 2018 from Samsung.

According to foreign media quoted industry sources said that Samsung is currently the world's largest manufacturer of OLED panel, but still plans to build a new OLED plant to further consolidate its OLED display panel industry global leader.

The factory will be completed in two phases in Korea and will start production of the OLED panel at some point in 2019. The second phase will be completed in 2021. The new factory will be named A5, and the output of the existing A3 plant in China will be 30% higher. In fact, A3 factory has been expanding production scale, in order to cope with Apple's OLED panel gradually expanding demand, but there is still no way to be met.

According to the news before, Apple has ordered 1.8 billion OLED panels for its iPhone in 2018 from Samsung. The latest news is that, soon, the shipment of iPhone 8 will be affected by the OLED panel supply, while Samsung will be the exclusive manufacturer of the iPhone 8 OLED panel. By September of this year, it is expected that there will be only 3 to 4 million iPhone equipped with OLED screens to ship.
